第一関門通過

私のジョージア大学獣医教育病院での立場は行動学科研修医。この研修医期間を３年終わらせて、しかるべきハードルを越えると専門医試験を受ける資格を得ます。その専門医試験を受けるための関門、書類提出の期限が迫っていました。この書類作成は結構なストレスでした。この書類の中には以前に日記で書いた３本の症例報告書も含まれています。誰にも見せることができないで、完璧な英語で内容も満点にして提出しなければいけないものなのですが、とりあえず終わらせ、他の山のような書類と一緒に送りました。
下のメールはペンシルバニア大学で私と同じ研修医３年生の友達が書いたものです。
It is finally over,

At 5:00 pm, I mailed my case reports and the rest of my credentials out. I
took them to the local pack and ship store and handed them to the man
behind the counter. He said, what is the description of the items? I said,
"Well grossly, they are made of paper. Do you mean, what they actually
are?" He said, "What about if we call them documents?" I said that would be
fine.

He then asked me how much they were worth. "Two or three million?!" I said.
"At least! I mean if that package doesn't get to Texas, I can't sit the
boards in Oct!" As I saw him reaching for the silent alarm button, I
told him just to put $100.

Anyway, they are gone and I am drinking a much deserved drink. Thanks to
all who helped and to all who just put up with me.
アメリカ人の優秀な彼女にもストレスだったのね〜、とちょっとほっとしました。やはり、過去２ヶ月間この書類作成が頭からはなれず、知らないうちに私も自分にストレスをかけていたようです。ちょっと欝気味になって、ホームシックになっていたのも、これでしょう。後は４月に書類選考の結果が来るまで試験勉強を始めながら待たなくてはいけません。
